Born in Tanana, Alaska, the rural village that is the location of the popular Discovery Channel docu-drama, Yukon Men, Rae grew up in a log cabin without electricity or running water. She loved reading and excelled in her studies in high school, graduating a year early. Rae received numerous academic scholarships and studied psychology and journalism for three years in college before relocating to Australia. While in Sydney she was discovered by a photographer, which began her swimsuit and lingerie modeling career.
